To me, it's not even so much about spiking vs not-spiking. The whole argument is silly anyway. Say you have a mixed team of a war, some eles, random chaps and monks; option 1 is they spike from time to time and do other things on the side (wards, shutdown, aoe etc), option 2 is they only use their skills as they see fit, resulting in "pure pressure". Surely option 2, the non-spike team is not more 'skilled' than #1.

What I dislike is the predominance of lazy teams; builds that get maximal mileage out of very limited effort. Spike teams often fit this category as they rely on one caller, perhaps some good monking, and all too often a build copied ad nauseum. To me though, something like IWAY was worse; not requiring even voice comm. C-space did the job. Current day alternatives of this are paragon and zergway teams. Can't wait till the update that will make powerblock stop those chants.

Agreed. Something like wild blow to kill a shout or weapon spell would be nice too I think.

What does that have to do with anything? I don't even understand your statement really. Infact I don't understand the thread much, in how it was written. Someone appologising for ranting, when he knows he was ranting...

Oh well, expecting any ounce of logic from such people is pointless I guess.

Allow me to provide you with another fact: you can only take 64 skills. You can't possibly take a viable counter to every build in the game and still have a not-completely-sucking defense and/or offense.
